DESCRIPTION:Working-to-learn experiences can help students build workforce skills and provide a path into the labor market. Organizations benefit by cultivating a pipeline of talent. Communities can reduce unemployment and attract new businesses and industries. Seems like a win-win. But only 2% of HS students have had a work-based learning experience. So\, how can we help employers overcome barriers–transportation\, safety\, and workers’ compensation issues–and provide financial incentives to encourage participation? \nFind out by checking out our session at this year’s conference. Our very own President/CEO\, Stephanie Borowski will be exhibiting and presenting alongside American Student Assistance\, CAPS Network\, and the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation at this year’s SXSW EDU conference to discuss how we can engage employers to work with high school students in a work-based learning program.
