At GPS Education Partners, we know that every student’s career journey is unique. That’s why we’re always looking for innovative ways to help students identify their strengths, explore career paths, and gain hands-on experience. Our latest partnership with SchoolJoy is doing just that—using AI-powered tools to make career exploration more accessible, personalized, and effective.

Why This Matters for Students

Deciding on a career path can be overwhelming, and many students struggle to connect their interests with real-world opportunities. Through this pilot program, we’re introducing a digital intake assessment system that helps students:

  • Discover career pathways through structured self-assessment.
  • Receive personalized recommendations for hands-on learning experiences.
  • Identify potential barriers early to ensure the right support is in place.
  • Gain confidence in exploring careers aligned with their strengths and goals.

“Our goal is to thoughtfully explore how technology can support our work in connecting students with meaningful career opportunities,” noted Billie Torrentt, Chief Operating Officer at GPS Education Partners. “This pilot program allows us to test new approaches while maintaining our commitment to personalized support for each student.”

By integrating AI-driven insights with work-based learning, we’re ensuring students don’t just find a job – they find a future they’re excited about.

How It Works

Through a conversational AI tool, students will engage in a guided self-reflection process, answering questions about their interests, experiences, and goals. The system then provides tailored career pathway recommendations – helping students and educators align learning opportunities with career aspirations.

The pilot program will also ensure:

  • Secure student authentication for privacy and safety.
  • Flexible scheduling so students can complete assessments on their own time.
  • Standardized evaluation for equitable access to opportunities.

Partnering to Create More Opportunities

This pilot wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration of SchoolJoy, whose expertise in AI-driven learning solutions helps us modernize career exploration. With GPS Ed’s experience in work-based learning placement and SchoolJoy’s cutting-edge technology, we’re setting a new standard for career readiness programs.

For businesses, this means a stronger, more prepared talent pipeline. For students, it means a clearer, more personalized path to career success.

Looking Ahead

The initial three-month pilot program will focus on gathering data about student outcomes and program effectiveness. Both organizations are committed to a careful evaluation of how AI-enabled tools can complement existing work-based learning programs.

We’re excited about the possibilities this partnership brings and can’t wait to see how it transforms career exploration for students across our programs.
